Meet Erica, the Artist
and principal photographer for Red Cedar Studios. A native to North Idaho, and true lover of light and color and this region and all it has to offer, she has been photographing weddings for 12 years and has always adored making art. Capturing life moments, documenting love stories, and the connections shared is an enormous privilege and we couldn't be happier that you are considering having us join you on your special day!

We have built a process around creating art from authentic moments that our clients will cherish for the rest of their lives! That sounds so good, doesn't it?
Let us break that down a bit further:

"We have built a process..." As in, everything we do from the initial consultation to engagement sessions to proofing and album design serves the purpose of creating something that you will love!

"creating art...." Heck yes, we are artists! We don't just take snapshots of people, slap a cheap filter on it and call it a day. A wedding day includes many types of photographic art from editorial style to photojournalism to portraiture. We are here for it and love ALL of it.

"authentic moments..." We typically don't work off a Pinterest shot list, so please don't ask us to. We specialize in setting the stage to capture the connection you share with each other and a little less on making everything perfect. We'll let the MIL fuss over perfection.

"...will cherish for the rest of their lives!" For us, this means creating something tangible - an heirloom book that you can actually open up decades later and get that lovely "remember when" feeling. We don't spend our Saturdays capturing beautiful moments so they can sit on a flash drive in a drawer, or get buried on a hard drive that may eventually fail and be lost forever. All our collections do include some kind of book or album to suit the tastes of our clients.
In short, if you are on a budget and need to hire a beginner photographer, we get that. If you are looking for the latest Pinterest trends in poses and monochrome editing, we know there is a place for that too.
